Explore the deep questions from a physical lens.

Our workshops use guided dialogue, thought experiments, and hands-on inquiry to bring the foundational questions of physics to life. Each session is designed to meet participants where they are. No background in physics or mathematics required.

Workshop Topics

Philosophy of Space & Time

What is space: a container that holds objects, or a web of relationships between them? Does time flow, or is that an illusion? Participants explore competing visions of space and time from Newton and Leibniz through Einstein, grappling with questions that physicists and philosophers still debate today.

Quantum Mechanics & the Nature of Reality

Can something be in two places at once? Does observation change what is being observed? Participants are introduced to the central puzzles of quantum mechanics—superposition, entanglement, measurement—through their philosophical implications instead of equations. What does quantum theory tell us about the nature of reality itself?

Philosophy of Matter & Interaction

What is matter made of, and what holds it together? Why do things push and pull on each other at a distance? Students trace the evolution of our understanding of matter, from ancient atomism to fields and forces. The workshop invites participants to question what it means for something to be real.

Special Relativity & the Structure of the Universe

What happens when nothing can travel faster than light? Participants discover how Einstein's simple postulate reshapes what we think we know about the world intuitively: simultaneity, length, time, and even the meaning of "now." Through visual thought experiments and paradoxes, participants experience the disorientation of a universe that doesn't work the way it seems.

“It was super fun! I have never really been interested in philosophy, but I learned so much and got really into it.”

— 12th grade participant, Chapel Hill High School

Ready to host a workshop? Here’s the process:

Step 1

Consultation

Contact us via the outreach form below. You may specify which workshop topics are preferred for your group, or we can work on that together once your inquiry is received. We’ll reach back out to you to set up a consultation, where we will learn more about your group and needs. Here, we can work with you to decide whether it’s a single event or a series of workshops you’d like to host.

Step 2

Planning & Logistics

Once we have the group size, location, and estimated target date(s) for the workshop(s) you’d like us to host, we will tailor the content to your group and work with you to nail down a final timeline and location for the workshop event.

Step 3

Workshop Delivery

Your group’s workshop will be delivered at your school, office, or venue of choice. We always come to you and are free of charge.

Request a workshop

Interested in bringing a workshop to your classroom, community center, or organization? Fill out the form and we'll work with you to design a session that fits your group. All workshops are free of charge.
